Has Any Show Topped True Detective's First Season?

I agree Season 1 was amazing.

Season 2 was so ****ty I didn't even bother finishing it. I made it to the last episode and said **** it, why even bother wasting an hour of my life on this garbage?

I saw two episodes for free and thought it might get better but my friend said it never did and well, I wasn't going to spend any money on it after that, although I bought the first season and have no regrets.

Good question. The Wire, Breaking Bad ect are some of my all time favourite shows. But just based on a first season bases..True Detective is up there with them, maybe even better.

It's a great show. I haven't got around to season 2 yet as the poor reviews put me off somewhat.

Slightly off topic but I watched a Spanish movie not so long ago called 'Marshland' (La isla mínima), which i found very similar to season 1 of True Detective. It was pretty good : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marshland_(film)
