I always thought Pernell Whitaker was matched tough pretty early.

Agreed on Jeff. I don't think anyone could top that. What's your view of the rumours that he had more fights behind closed doors which were never recorded?

Going by his story with Johnson whom he offered to fight similarly, I can't completely dismiss this.

Jeffries was a real tough guy.
