    How so?

America's economy is to scale for it's population compared to Australia, and the GDP per capita is higher.

Unless you are talking about administrative inefficiencies or something like that? Nothing that can't be solved by good governance and offset by economies of scale.

Free college is a great idea. We used to have it here in Australia, but short-sighted penny pinchers got rid of it.

I think it is pretty much a result of the free education that ended up with Australia having the longest period of economic growth of any country ever.

Although I would strongly recommend that free college education only extended to things like STEM. Someone who goes and does a degree in gender studies is only going to cost the taxpayer money in the long run, and will never pay tax in their life.
      Ozzie healthcare fugging SUCKS.

When i lived in OZ i cut off the top of my finger with electric secateurs (lol) expected free healthcare, like in the UK and spent ages waiting/filling out forms and had to pay...

      UK healthcare > u.s / OZ

Australian healthcare is very good. The UK system may be better, but that doesn't make ours bad.

The UK system is awful. My daughter has had two boys in London....neither one was in a NHS hospital. She visited the NHS hospitals before deciding on where to have the babies and described them as "Victorian" in terms of facilities. It gives the lowest care to the most people.

The US healthcare "system" is broken as we all know but US "Healthcare" is the best in the world...if you can afford it. It gives the best care to the least people.

I've been exposed to the Australian system as well both personally and with respect to my relatives in Australia. Again, basic care to the most people.

Nothing is free, you're going to pay for it one way or another.

Discrimination via the IRS, the governments promotion of infanticide, ****sexual disease, population control fanaticism, survival of the fittest philosophies, history of genocide and racism, tax abuse, corruption, healthcare rated number at least 3rd highest killer of people, Big pharma, and the general inadequacy of all government organizations compared to private run makes it obvious that the government should not control healthcare.

Do you have access to that wonderful American healthcare?
It sounds wonderful because it seems to not be as heavily used as Australia's and Britain's.
A system like that seems to mainly benefit the rich and the fortunate.

Free healthcare is one of the best things about living in Britain. It's certainly not perfect but not having to worry about your finances if you get ill is worth the long waits etc
