Or should Bellew simply not be seen as a p4p measuring stick?
Most of the folk who have Usyk as a P4Per had him there before beating Bellew (including the widely respected panel of the TBRB, incidentally, who had him #4 in their October rankings). I get that he hasn't been on TV much in the US though so perhaps it's not so odd that the regard in which he's held is a surprise to you.

This fight didn't really elevate him so much as solidify him I think.... although I'll say once again that P4P is utter garbage conceptually anyway. Besides everyone has a different way of gauging P4P some are more eye test guys, some resume dependent and so on - and even then how the **** do you actually objectively compare fighters from different divisions?

Give me a precise formula for how many 2015 Matthysses a 2016 Lebedev is worth in todays currency and we can start to have a discussion.

Except at that time Stevenson was seen as a must-watch P4P talent, Bellew hadn’t achieved no where as near as much as he had over the past few years though. Funny how people forget.

And he KO'd a drained Bellew...this Bellew was obviously much better coming off his best career wins. Who did Bellew beat before he faced Stevenson ?
It's funny that people buy into Bellews excuse of being drained. He was boxing well and showed no signs of fatigue although he wasn't winning the rounds. All of his fights after Stevenson he looked slightly out of shape. Stevenson was top 10 a few years back, probably around 15 p4p right now.

Bellew alone should not... but wins against Gassiev, Briedis, Glowacki, Huck, Hunter etc all as the away fighter certainly prove Usyk is a P4P talent

Usyk unified all the titles on the road and beat several other contenders in the last 2 years.
He beat Breidis, Gassiev and Bellew just this year alone.

Last 2 years add Huck, Mchunu and Glowacki.

              That's why he's P4P.

His resume is better than Stevenson's in 15 fights.

Those cw you just named all are b to c level.
When did cw become some stacked division? It's the weakest in boxing.
Those were good fights but doesn't make usyk some God. Sounds like ggg hype all over again.

And Stevenson whooped bellow at 36 years old. He's 41.

                  Crusierweight is a good division.

                  Those are good fighters.

Yup. Even Hunter is a decent win imo, and will look better in time, and that was just a stay busy fight.

Usyk is doing everything boxing fans say they want boxers to do.
