  • Should Wilder vs. Wawrzyk be a non title fight?

I have no problem with Wilder trying to stay busy, but padding your defenses against no-hopers who haven't earned the privilege of fighting for the championship is cheap.

This should be a non title fight. It will be nothing more than a sparring match until Wilder drops the hammer on him.

No, Wawrzyk is ranked by WBC.

      He shouldn't be.

He's FAR from being a bona fide contender.

      ABC rankings mean little nowadays.

If that happened as luck would have it would probably end up in a Wawrzyk win and Wilder remains champ if he should get k.od. lol

No,leave it a title fight b/c otherwise you might as well shut the T.v off or put cartoons on,at least theres that more than impossible chance of seeing a new champion. though i will be rooting for wilder b/c theres other fights to be made 2 years from now after this one with Joshua or Fury. lol

Plenty of fights happen between champs and no-hopers at all weight classes all the time. NSB thinks Wilder is the only fighter who has ever had a soft-touch defense in boxing history.

Povetkin fought Wawryzk for the WBA belt as a tune-up before Wlad and that was 3 years ago..

it shouldnt even be considered a boxing fight, should be a circus exhibition. Type of fight should be alongside watching the human cannonball, fire dancing and the flying trapeze.

Not at all. This guy is not a world beater, but his only loss was against a world ranked fighter. He's not old, he's not trying to cash out, and he's well ranked (ranked by both WBC and Boxrec).

There have been much worse matchups.

Plus, what would this accomplish? Imagine that Wawrzyk pulls off the shocker and Wilder gets to keep the belt?

                    Why not?

GGG vs Adama was a title fight.
