  • why do certain posters point out the early comp of loma, usyk and gvozdyk?

its really a rhetorical question..i already know the answer..its desperate posters in desperate need to prop up their current/future heros...

but honestly...i see guys going around and saying things like 'gvozdyk already amassing an impressive resume"

the dude is 30 years old FFS...and has all this "amatuer experience" that the same fans seem to value...why would this be a suprise?

mikey garcia has beaten the same common opponents that loma has fought...and was the same age as loma when he beat them

how come errol spences resume gets questioned....when hes 26/27 and going to the UK to fight kell brook(someone u guys had to make out to be great to try and save face for your boy golovkin).....but yall gotta question his resume

meanwhile usyk is in their with 5-9 southpaws...and gvozdyk is "amassing a nice resume this early"????

Who has Garcia beat in the past 3 years that's better than Loma's last 3 opponents?

is that a fair question? since mikey has been inactive and in a promotional squabble of his own?

the point is...he beat salido and martinez at the same age loma did...those are common opponents...same age....so why do loma fans act like loma has accomplished some great feat because loma decided to chase medals for awhile instead of fighting pro?

Yes, it's a fair question. Garcia is the same age as Loma, Loma would beat Salido in a rematch, has the better resume and he'd beat Garcia.

loma would beat salido in a rematch? probably...but we dont know

loma would be garcia? maybe...but we arent really sure are we?

what i am sure of his that mikey beat common opponents that he and loma share..and at the same age.....

so....why do people praise loma for this and its barely a blip for mikey?

why do people praise gvozdyk for his resume in other threads.....yet 27 year old spence is going to UK to fight brook and his resume is getting trashed?

Lomachenko has beaten better opposition in the last 3 years, but can you answer to his questions? Your argument is totally irrelevant.

Back to the question. I think this early success by the current crop of outstanding amateurs is a little bit watered down, because amateur boxing is slowly changed to the pro boxinh with the 10-9 system and the opportunity to fight in the wsb format, where they fight 5 rounders.

So nowadays the guys coming from the amateur are already more accustomed to the pro boxing style and dont need as many fights to prepare themselves.

Before the changes, amateur boxing favoured much more heavily the point boxer, just touching the opponent and not using any power. These guys needed more fights in the pros.
When degale started as a pro, he didnt know how to punch properly.

They share 2 common opponents. Loma is praised because of what I first said. His resume is better. Garcia put Martinez out in the 8th, Loma did it in 5. Then went on and dominated two opponents better than anything Garcia has seen 3 years all the while everyone is ducking him. That's why people praise Loma.

yeah but didnt garcia put martinez out first?

floyd took hatton out first right? then juan lazcano had him hurt...then pac knocks him out ....should we suck pac off even more for beating a guy floyd ko'd then lazcano had on queer street?

again...you are picking on mikey here cause its easy..since hes been inactive and is trying to get his career back on track while loma is getting a huge push right out the gate.......when mikey was humming along he was no different than loma

so address why some are impressed with gvozdyk and talking about how hes already amassed a good resume ....but someone like spence, who is 3 years younger, is going to the UK to fight brook ...and he gets trashed?
