If both guys are half as good as they believe they are, Joshua should get past Parker and Miller and Wilder should do the same with Ortiz and Breazeale (or whoever). Its taken Wilder a while to get his brand off the ground in America and Joshua isn't known here yet. If this fight was actually made for next month it would be a disservice to everyone (but us boxing nerds).

Hearn was on Chris Mannix's show a while back and was saying essentially all of the above, just asking out loud "When's the time to make the fight?"

He has to play the promoter and say Wilder isnt popular enough and wants to big a cut and all that, but deep down he is doing bother fighters a favor. I wouldn't be surprised to see Joshua yield Wilder a VERY generous split of the pot once the pot becomes massive.... which I think it will by next spring.
It's really refreshing to see somebody that understands what is going on. Yeah, Wilder vs Joshua is the biggest fight in the HW division RIGHT NOW, but how big is it really? Is it gonna draw in a lot of American casuals right now? I don't think so. Money and popularity wise, you're really selling the potential for this fight short if you do it too soon. Every Joshua fight is going to be enormous in the UK, that ain't changing any time soon. He could get KO'd by Parker and come back and fight in front of a full stadium against Mark De Mori.

So that means, to truly maximize this potential fight, you need both Joshua and Wilder to make noise in the US. I think the absolute perfect scenario is Wilder beating Ortiz and Joshua beating Parker obviously, then Joshua comes to NY and beats Miller in the Summer while Wilder travels to England in the same time-frame and KO's Whyte. Then both guys make a fight at home in the Winter, Wilder vs Breazeale and Joshua vs Povetkin. That sets up the mega-fight in the US in the Spring of 2019. At that point the fight would bring tons of attention and make RIDICULOUS amounts of money. This is a rare opportunity to make a HUGE HW unification fight that will draw in US viewers. That hasn't happened in a long time, so the 2 sides have to make sure not to cash in their chips too early and ruin the peak possibility by having these guys fight before they are known by casual boxing fans in the US.

Miller's made it this far off of his ability to walk opponents down because of how huge he is, but the moment he fights an opponent with some real firepower he's in for a rude awakening.

Not surprised that he's on Hearn's list, anything to put back the Wilder fight a few months more.

Hearn making Wilder beg, just loving it. Aside that, this fight has the potential to be very very big, fighting too soon ruins it, it should marinate. AJ fighting in the US is a great move for AJ and also for Big Baby, Hearnel sure is taking care of his fighters and having them well paid off.

Beyonce's time would come, all he has to do is stand in a queue, when his turn comes up, he gets KOed by King Joshua.

agree, would be similar to when Joshua cherry picked slowest boxer in division brezeale.

What a load of crap. Your statement represents everything that is wrong with boxing. Just put them in the ring asap. If they want more hype then they can hype the rematch.

Hate posts like this. The only thing more pathetic than when fanboys use the same weak logic as promoters for why fights shouldn't happen is when they seem to take more joy from fighters one-upping their opponents in negotiations than they do from actually seeing them win actual fights.

You hate it but that is if fact what a business man would do, if you do and rush the fight then you are a fool and shouldn't be in the business of boxing.

Having said that, AJ is the A side and they alone decide how, where and when the fight happens, all Wilder needs to do is come on to the table and talk when spoken to, yes, he is the bltch side and he needs to be more humble, Hearn is about making him a multi millionaire so he needs to be appreciative else he goes back fighting bums in front of yobos.

You'll probably just choke on Wilder's nuts one day Beensucking. Ask him why he ducked the Klitschko brothers for eternity though.

I actually dont mind seeing them next. Wilder vs Ortiz winner vs Povetkin, then winners can fight.
It wont happen though, after these next two fights, AJ or Wilder will fight Fury if he's halfway decent, the other will fight Whyte bum as s. I say end of 2019 if they can both navigate three fights without losing.
