The ABC titles jumped the shark long ago but now it’s insane with the franchise, Diamond, regular, interim, gold, silver, pearl, w/e championship.
I’m pretty sure we can have 20 different champions in a weight class now.
I’m all for the lineal championship stuff but we need something that really will hurt ABC titles. Everyone knows boxing fans aren’t going to be okay with 4 total champions in all of boxing lol.
So I think we need an independent panel of journalists who vote on the champion of each weight class. The champion is the one with the most votes.
17 champions, picked by boxing media. No weird rules or stripping of titles, or weird mandatory stuff. And lineal champs can be held accountable for ducking because it’s a vote.
Wouldn’t that be great? 17 champions picked by the boxing media.
And then we as fans need to support it and start ignoring these dumb belts.
