I Know U R trolling... But just for shizz 'N gigglez.
(Here is the ultimate secret in the MEX vs. P.R. debate...)

*Salvador Sanchez Vs. Gomez (Their greatest fighter)
(This fight can NEVER be topped)
*Revenge for Mexico (Anything Gomez did was eclipsed)

*They (PR) had NOBODY for J.C. Chavez Superstar... let's move on.

*Margarito took Cotto's cherry. (Arguably the 2nd greatest PR ever)

& Salido boned their NEXT (Juan Ma twice IN Puerto Rico)... 2X.

Trinidad Vs. De La Hoya... lol is their ultimate claim to fame... EVERYONE knows who won that fight. (Even the haters, rewatch it)

Gomez isn’t their best ever and Cotto isn’t close to #2.

Never heard of Carlos Ortiz or Wilfred Benitez?

PR-MEX matches are embarrassingly close considering how tiny PR is.

P.S a washed up LaPorte arguably beat Chavez and Margarito-Cotto was done by cheating. Gomez-Zarate was a huge deal as was Benitez-Palamino. Tito beat Oscar not sure why that’s so hard to come to terms with and then he ruined Vargas.

            Trinidad > De La Hoya

Yeah, Trinidad should have lost on the cards technically, but De La Hoya deserved to lose by the way he fought the last few rounds. He evaded for a reason because he felt he would get caught with something. This was the night I stopped being a De La Hoya fan. It's a 12 round fight, not an 8 round fight.

This might be the only justifiable gift decision I've ever seen.

Had he stood close enough and not run he'd have lost those rounds big, perhaps even been dropped and stopped.

A re-match at 154 would have been ideal but Oscar waited for Tito to move up and only really acted like he wanted the fight once Tito was retired. At 154 with less movement, Tito more experienced in big fights, not weight drained he'd have stopped Oscar late.

Good post, I felt the same way.

Benitez was born in NY. (Disqualified)
Ortiz beat Ramos (half Cuban) disqualified.

Margarito was born in Torrance yet you mentioned him.

Benitez moved to PR a couple of months into his life by his Puerto Rican parents.

Ortiz doesn’t get disqualified being their best fighter because he beat a Cuban.
