Wladimir Klitschko is the greatest heavyweight boxer in history, with unparalleled domination never seen before by any other boxer. Him losing at the age of 41 to a 26 year old power puncher with a 100% KO record, whilst surviving longer than any of his other previous opponents is more a testament to his greatness than negativity. In fact, it's less embarrassing for Wlad to lose to Joshua at that stage of his career than for Muhammad Ali to lose to Larry Holmes or Trevor Berbick at a much younger age.

Wladimir Klitschko at this stage of his career was already on his way out of boxing anyway. So him losing at the age of 41 is anything but 'short lived era'. His longevity and all round heavyweight boxing accomplishments / record is unparalleled and the margin by which he won his fights are things which has never previously or since been replicated.
