Yes you can be hurt in the amateurs. It's less likely because of shorter and less rounds, headgear, and a different system of scoring... but people have been..and will be...hurt.
Lol at a small head...well as with anything else it could be beneficial or detrimental.
The main thing is to get yourself in a gym or boxing program. You ain't gonna get nowhere deliberating and second guessing yourself.
