If Lucas fought bums for titles like Broner does he'd have more then 1 title to his name.

so you have to be able to beat two of the best fighters ever, who fight at a weigh higher than your own, to be world class?

you guys don't know what a world class fighter is, and that's fine. just stop acting like you do

Agreed. With all that said, I don't think Lucas suddenly becomes a non-world class fighter because he lost to Postol. Postol is a damn good fighter and is top 3 at 140 now after that win

If both guys "lose" to the same guy, then how is the one who lost badly world class but the the one who lost a robbery isn't? This is so ridiculous.

Matthysse has beaten world class fighters and fought the rest close. Clearly he is world class.
Serious? Styles make fights... With that being said Maidana when asked to step up to the plate has over performed and defied the odds by beating Broner, remember all the hype surrounding him? And by getting in with Floyd and giving him a good enough fight he won on one judges card... The fight was close enough Floyd gave him an immediate rematch... Mathysse has always lived in the shadow that Maidana casts since they were kids. It's easy to say Mathysse is not on Maidana's level. Put Maidana in with 5 of the best welters right now, he wins half of those fights.... Can't say the same for Lucas. Maidana is on a level that Lucas is not on... That level is WORLD CLASS... Maidana earned the right to call himself a CHAMPION ... Lucas NEVER has and NEVER WILL.

But now you're counting a loss in Maidana's favour.

When you don't count what most people consider clear wins for Matthysse.

              Maidana's best win is Broner.

so in some spots you cite fights to say that fighters are world class or not, and in others you say "styles make fights."

how else are we going to compare fighters if we can't talk about their fights?

on what planet is it irrelevant that maidana got embarassed by alexander, and matthysse dropped him and should have a wide UD win? on what planet is this variation irrelevant to the discussion of a fighter's quality? on what planet ?

you've got a pretty blatant agenda

you should stop talking, and change your avvy, name, and siggy. maybe you'll be taken seriously in a year or two, after you've done your penance.

                  brick city:

how did maidana do against devon alexander?

how did matthysse do against devon alexander?

how did matthysse do against ruslan prodnikov?
                  how did bradley do?

how did maidana do against chop chop corley?
                  how did matthysse do?

how did khan do against danny?
                  how did matthysse do?

i can continue, but you obviously get the idea.

how are wins, and how you go there, not relevant to the discussion of a fighter's quality?

styles make fights doe. you don't understand styles doe!

Or the elite of the elite. If you are fighting for world titles and competitive in said fights you are world class.

He's a world class fighter. He's limited, but so were guys like Froch. It doesn't mean he's been exposed because he's been beat.
If you're beating or being competitive with other top fighters, you're doing something right.

You don't have to be Mayweather or Pacquiao stature to be considered world class..they're on another level.
