The same people saying you have to win in vegas to be a star will tell you that belts dont matter, but keep telling everyone how many titles their favorite fighter has won.

Where a fighter get his win is irrelevant. Boxing is a world wide sport.
I understand your point-it's who you beat not where you beat them. I agree. However, winning a big fight in the fight capital of the world has extra meaning, like say winning the title in the top soccer league in Europe as opposed to the MLS cup in the US.

i honestly feel once a fighter becomes a star he should bring the money back to his community... bring the fanfare and money that it injects into the flow of things.

if it was more profitable for the fight to be in the UK or mexico, it would have been.

Oh, you mean like american fighters who never leave the country?

          What say ye?

Then you havent been here long enough. For years, many people cried that Joe Calzaghe would not fight here.

He comes and beats Hopkins and Jones, and still gets virtually no credit.

Would Alis Ko of Foreman been better if it was in Vegas?

No, I was referring to heavyweight champions like: Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Ken Norton, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Chris Bryd, Lamon Brewster and Deontay Wilder. They have all fought on foreign soil.

                    Fight where the money is.

It's who you beat and what you achieve (money and accomplishments) that makes your career. Not a set location. Go to the location that offers most even on a fight to fight basis depending, and you're good.
