  • Comments Thread For: Mosley's Trainer: Shane Not Fooled By Pacquiao's Size

Trainer Naazim Richardson is not underestimating the size of Manny Pacquiao. Richardson's fighter, former three division champion Shane Mosley, faces Pacquiao for the WBO welterweight title on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Since Pacquiao's made the move to 147-pounds, several of his opponents have underestimated his size and power. Because Pacquiao began his career at 106-pounds, opponents immediately view him as the "smaller man."

when you have to eat extra calories in training camp just so you don't fall below 144 pounds, well yea, you are a small welterweight. when shane is coming down from 165 to make the weight, and pacquiao actually has to EAT MORE just to weigh in at 147.

Obviously you have no clue on what Naseem is saying in his statement.

It's not pac's size. It's the size he drains his opponets that gives him the edge. No fault of pac's. If these guys are signing up to fight out of thier weight then that's thier bad.

I don't know Naaz, you should tell Shane that. All the quotes I hear from Shane is that he's the bigger man with more power.

Mosley should pay close attention to his size, but not in the way to overpower him because that isn't the route to victory.

Shane should pay close attention to range though, which is an aspect of size and a way he can improve his chances a great deal~
