I see all you guys saying that the fights don't lead anywhere but do you guys not realize that it's happening

But wheres the unifications at man? You say they are going to happen but PBC has shown nothing in the works for that stuff to happen at all.

In the few months since he won his paper title, Eddie Hearn has made Anthony Joshua a bigger name IN THE STATES than Deontay Wilder. If Haymon had the foggiest idea of what he was doing, that would never have happened.

Uncle Al may be a good businessman, and he may have been great at promoting music shows, but he absloutely sucks as a boxing promoter.

Like AJ, Wilder has a paper world title, genuine one-punch power, a string of KO wins over nobodies, and an engaging personality which comes over well on TV and videos.

Casual fans don't know, or care, that Deontay and AJ have never beaten anybody worth a damn. They look the part and they deliver the goods - against the right opponents at least.

Eddie Hearn knows how to exploit the ignorance of the casual fan base and is turning AJ into a mainstream star. Haymon hasn't a clue, so despite having been a "world champion" a year longer than AJ, Deontay can walk down the high street in his own home town, and hardly anyone will know who the fuck he is.

These guys need someone like Arum or oscar to get them out there to the public... And PBC is failing hard at getting these guys back in the ring as well, Jacobs, Quillen, Thurman, Porter etc,... Almost a year will pass before they get in the ring...

Boxing itself doesnt have figters fight the best. NFL forces the two best teams to play against each other in the Superbowl. NBA forces the two best teams to play in the NBA finals. The world cup Final is between the best two teams. Boxing doesnt have that force to make the two best boxer fight each other. That's the reason it keeps declining. Its an easy formula that they dont fallow. Make the boxers sing a contract and force them to box each other, the same way UFC does. Simple.

the UFC is owned by a corporation called "zuffa," and as a unified entitity its worth is estimated to be over a billion dollars. there are acutally new rumors that the UFC is for sale for around 4 billion.


boxing is a collection of private companies with no unifying organization or regulating body.


UFC branding is so comprehensive that people think it is the sport.

Very good point in the bold imo.

Haymon partnered with the golden boy ODLH was creating stars all over the place. On HBO and Showtime. ODLH has the fans ear, people click articles when his name is in the title. He is articulate and understands how to sell himself, fights and fighters.

Haymon doesn't have anyone like that anymore. Floyd gets views but the guy isnt built to sell other fighters.

Well to parallel that with the poor Fonfara-Smith ratings, "what did they expect"?

When you treat the media as if they have smallpox or something, dont be too surprised if they arent professing your greatness with every word. Haymon treats the media as if they were nothing more than a place to send his press releases. "oooooo, Im Big Al Haymon, I'm soooooo mysterious and dont talk to the media". LOL.

Yes, in alot of ways Haymon is brilliant, but his stance of not talking to the media, and not having a PR face for the company, well thats really just plain ignorant.

My points are:

1. UFC is a promotion
   
2. There are no world champions in UFC
   
3. The best MMA fighters don't fight the best MMA fighters because promotional outfits don't cross promote
   
4. MMA is more fractured than boxing.
   
5. Ali Act will make UFC adhere to the same rules as boxing. And they will encounter the same problems as boxing.

I said this from day one.....what has hurt PBC more than anything is its inconsistency!

Jumping from network to network on different days of the week and during different time slots is not the way to build a following.
