Whilst he didn't turn out to be World class we had high hopes that the Gypsy Kid George Collins was going to be.

Turned pro at 17 & racked up a 26 (20) - 0 record before his 20th birthday.

Lost a close battle to the Scotsman Gary Jacobs for the Commonwealth title then got blown out by my favourite Kirkland Laing & never fought again, just after his 22nd birthday.

His younger brother Tony was a decent domestic fighter too & also never fought past his 22nd year.

They're probably running a dodgy roofing firm in Yateley nowadays
