I'll be glad when women are officially told why they can't compete with men in the sporting world.

If they want equal pay, compete against men and earn that pay.

I wouldn't know or be surprised if they did. If a person is interested in what an inferior product looks like (or maybe a sexy athlete), watch women sports.

It's too bad whenever this issue comes up we get such simple minded responses.

No one thinks WNBA payers should make the same as NBA players. That said, the WNBA salaries are so low that women have to play overseas to make money. This has led to injuries of top players and has forced top players to decide not to play in the US, which hurts the product.

With tennis and soccer, the issue is why are women being paid less than men for doing the same thing. I think it's reasonable that each person on the USNT, men or women, get the same amount from the federation. I think Serena and Halep should make the same as Federer and Jokavick for making the finals (and they should play the same number of sets).

There is a reasonable discussion to be had on this topic.

As for soccer players, the men's FIFA World Cup generates 6 billion to the women's 130 million. They are paid accordingly to what they generate. So no, they should not be paid the same.

Want to be considered the best, you have to beat the best. There are no ''best'' in women sports when men athletes are around. The best women stand no chance vs the 10th best male....And they want equal pay ????
