Amateur doesn't mean inexperienced, there are many amateurs who eat pros alive.
In the words of Max Kellerman (probably your favorite commentator), he wasn't a 12 round fighter.

Lomachenko was a 1-0 novice in the pro game.

LOL 3 pages and still nobody has been able to bring up at least ONE fighter in history who would stand any chance against Salido in his second pro fight. Not a single one of them.

Loma haters EXPOSED!

He lost bro. Deal with it. It's ok to lose and Loma learned from it and became a better fighter because of it. Floyd beat Castillo AND 12 YEARS LATER people still make threads like "Who really won Floyd-Castillo 1??"

I think the Salido loss will only make the Loma legacy look better in the long run. If the record is a perfect undefeated record there will always be questions whether that fighter really wanted to challenge himself. Coming back strong from a loss makes the fighter look good no matter what.

Hopkins lost his first fight.
I think it showed he has the right mentality as he jumped right in 3 months later and undressed Russell. He learns fast hence every fight he looks even better.

He basically got his 15 fights and 2-3 years of B.S record padding out the way 6 months and 2 fights into his career. It's amazing people think he's the same fighter now but then again some posters here would pick Rigo, Russell, Walters in re-matches.

His amateur pedigree helped but the haters here say the 396-1 and two gold medals means nothing that a bronze and multiple losses is better.

I've never seen a fighter with his all-around game after 11 fights. It's unprecedented.

Salido is a hard mother****er to beat, stop looking at the lost on lomachenko record like a black eye etc and look at it for what it is he got beat by the bigger, stronger, more experience, and hard to beat salido.

Lomachenko lost to salido deal with it.

Alot of fighters would lose to salido in their second fight.
But he missed weight, outweighed him 15 pounds, fouled him 100 times and still almost got knocked out in the 12th.

Anyone who gives Salido ANY credit, and doesn’t COMPLETELY excuse Lomachenko for losing under those circumstances is either

A) A mikey Garcia fan
B) a mexican
C) or a casual

Or they just accept that it happened and move on and dont let it affect their lives.

Look it doesnt matter that lomachenko lost to salido, Lomachenko career will be 10x more luxurious than Saldio's was. Dont let it ruin your life, its not ruining Lomachenko's.

What World Series of boxing have to do with all of this? It's closer to amateurs than pro

I don't think the loss needs much defending.

He lost a close 12 round decision in his second pro fight to a hard as hell, wily veteran champion who outweighed him and was essentially given a free pass by the ref to low blow and headbutt him all night. He also finished the fight beating on the old champ and chasing him around the ring.

Anyone who brings up Salido as an example as to why Loma is not so great is either trolling, stupid, or hasn't actually seen the fight.

I agree with this. People on both sides get hung up on the fight.
