floyd doesn't deserve more then 50 % only him and his groupies turned financial experts think he does. hes demanding more money because he knows hes going to be broke after being extorted in jail. even though hes begging to be held in pu$$y custody the inmates will get him. especially since he's filthy women beating scum. he's only 1 or 2 notches above a child rapist.

I'm afraid you just don't understand the business of boxing. There are expenses, for example, the major part of the total comes from PPV and international rights. The rest is gate... Right?? Have you got that??

The PPV/Cable Companies take 50% approx, which cuts down your hypothetical $-200 mill by $65-$90 mill leaving $85-$110 mill...approx. Got that?? Are you sure?? Then there are all the other expenses I don't even want to go into. Just say that the promoter does all of that and he must be paid......say 20-25%, which leaves.......Hey didn't you ever go to school?? Do the last calculation yourself.

But even a casual calculation will tell you that the Mayweather boast about $40-60 mill that he makes from his fights is just bluff. We get this info only FROM HIM........ No independent confirmation....only Mayweather's "word".......UNDERSTAND??? I haven't even mentioned Government taxes yet........!!!

If someone has a proper breakdown of the "pie" I'd really like to see it, we just don't get that information normally no matter from whom. It's been a matter of bluff, PR and "one-upmanship" to try to convince the public that this fighter earns more than that fighter to show how much more popular he is and so on...and on.........

look up on nsac it tells what Mayweather's purses are for the shane mosley fight it was 22.5 million thats just the purse then with Mayweather being his own boss he gets a cut of everything else. PPV, gate, closed circuit like bars, movie theaters, t-shirts, hotdogs, drinks, tv rights, international tv rights, etc. Mayweather makes 40 million after taxes dude.

Ima look up that ny times article for you for the ortiz fight to show you. and his purse for that was 25 million just the purse then his share of everything else.

For the cotto fight they arent even doing purses for this they are doing an overall percentage of all revenue ppv, gate, hotdogs,t-shirts , international rights, etc. etc. so if the fight grosses 120 million Mayweather might walk away with 60-70 million after taxes depending on what percentage he has you know it's either 70/30 in Mayweather's favor or 80/20 in Mayweather's favor. But let me find the article for the ortiz fight.

The New York Times has a great piece by Greg Bishop on the economics of Floyd Mayweather Jr and all the streams of revenue that come to him for one of his big fights. As we mentioned just a bit ago, Mayweather is going to make a $25 million guarantee, but Richard Schaefer says that Floyd should leave with around $40 million total.

"It’s never been done," Mayweather, who is 41-0, said about his financial model. "Not in entertainment history. Not in sports history. You see that arena Saturday? It’s all Mayweather money. Want a hot dog? Mayweather money. Want a T-shirt? Mayweather money. I need all that."

... Those streams include foreign sales for a fight broadcast in 168 territories; closed-circuit revenues (in 2,000 or so bars and restaurants nationwide, in theaters and in rooms at Las Vegas casinos); site revenue (ticket sales, merchandise); and sponsorships. Most boxers would see little, if any, of that money, whereas, Schaefer said: "All revenues here are Mayweather revenues. He gets part of everything."

Nobody in boxing -- nobody -- has this sort of control of revenue. Hell, nobody in all of sports. Mayweather is a money machine, and it's more than just his PPV sales, more than just his live gates. He's got his hand in everything. That's unprecedented, and may not happen again any time soon.
