He probably could physically make it .

    He wouldn't be good though.

Pacquiao at 39, and last time he made 135 was 10 years ago, is believable.

Question for these fighters draining themselves to weight classes they "can" make, is "should" they do it? Especially 35+ year olds, going down in weight classes they haven't made in 10 years? Is it safe for their body? Will they be at 100%? Are they going to give their fanbase a fair performance?
It was not that he couldn't make 147 and still be strong. It was the very strange way he made the weigh. Under today's rules of weighing in 32 hours before the fight most welterweights train at about 157 pounds and drop about 10 pounds of water to make weight and then gain that 10 pounds back on after the weigh in. Oscar foolishly got down to 147 weeks before the fight and stayed there. His body sort of shut down and he could not gain any weight after the weigh in as was very weak. Pacquiao can easily make 135 and be strong as a bull. He walks around at 141 FFS.

Yeah precisely, the likelihood is that it isnt safe and why even take the risk when there are som great potential match-ups in his current weight division.

            Exactly what i was thinking.
If he walks around at 140 then making 135 should be a breeze and he shouldn't be weight drained if done right.
I think Loma is right in wanting this match at 135.
Loma just jumped up two divisions and to ask for a third against an ATG is a big ask.
            Loma/Pac 135. Let's do it.

Im sure he would be able to handle himself at 135 and hang with a p4p no1 but the weight isnt the issue its whether he can beat Loma with the skills he still has left is the major question point.

I question anybody who thinks he can make 135 without being weak. He too old to abruptly drop to weight he hasnt been at in decades

You heard from his own mouth that he has to eat 3x the amount he would normally eat to make 147.
He is more disadvantaged fighting welters than he is dropping 6pnds of his natural weight to fight Loma.

Two recent examples are you picking Vanes to KO GGG and you picking Matthysse to KO Pacquiao. Loma is a great fighter and it's possible he could beat Pacquiao. He is not going to humiliate Pacquiao and make him look stupid. He would have his hands full fighting Pacquiao at 135. It would take all the skill, courage, intelligence, conditioning and punching power he has to come out the winner. Pacquiao is a great old fighter and hardly the pushover you are making him out to be.

You bring up two times I've been wrong but say nothing about my hundreds of correct predictions..

His normal weight is 141 lbs. He has to eat 3 extra meals a day during training camp to get to 146. If just eats his normal diet and drops a few lbs in training camp he easily dehydrates the few remaining lbs for the the weigh-in. He'd probably have better speed and stamina at 135 lbs.
