but in my line of work, if its a murder case the argument is going to fall to, whether the shots fired were needed to protect them selves or others or where they intended to kill.

all cops unloading clips into a sleepy drunk with a gun. would you want to be one of those cops if they were defendants in a murder case. If I was a prosecutor I would pounce on the number of shots. would you want a jury deciding the rest of your life on those facts...
