i'm glad you bring it up though.

a lot of people want to demonize the south as being pro-slavery but they don't realize that the south's main issue was the balance of state's rights and federal power.

to the north and to most people now they think the civil war was fought because of slavery. they don't realize for the south it was not slavery but for states rights.
