Canelo fought the fight of his ****ing life

Obviously it doesn't show the whole fight, but I'm still confused where all this walking him down was. So much of that fight was in the middle of the ring or on the border of it. I don't get how people score rounds just because each guy is doing what the other is usually doing or supposed to do. For years we heard GGG can't fight off the backfoot and here he showed he can. Was it the right gameplan? Who knows what would've happened had he did what we're accustomed to him doing, but we can't score a fight based off what we expect a guy to do. It was a good fight nonetheless and I can't complain 7-5 either way. But Canelo fans need to stop sounding as if they're trying to convince themselves of something. Either you unconsciously rate Golovkin super high or aren't as confident in Canelo as you think. He fought a good fight. It's supposed to be a close match at this level. You're not supposed to blow out competition at the A level, despite what fans say on the extreme side of things.

Rooted for GGG but I agree with OP, Canelo fought like his life depended on it and showed a ton of heart and guts.
I had people over for the fight and we all thought the score cards accurately portrayed the outcome - a draw or a slight edge to Canelo.

Canelo fought the fight of his life, but how the hell do people keep perpetuating that Golovkin was trying to survive? It was Golovkin who took all the later rounds, it was Golovkin who heavily wobbled Canelo in 10th and 11th. Canelo was the only one who was ever in danger during that fight. Quit perpetuating this bullcrap like Golovkin was anywhere close to being stopped.
Golovkin threw more punches in last 2/3/4 rounds than he did during any other point in the fight. That is NOT survival mode.

HAHAHAHA bias agenda filled Lampley lying to ya'll "Canelo's hurt he might go". Reality 1 punch landed and Canelo styled on like 20 of GGG's punches
Whitaker and Floyd did this a million times. As for GGG he threw more jabs that's it. Canelo threw more and landed more power punches and backed him up all night. That was the difference of the fight Canelo edge in power punching for the SECOND fight in a row, while GGG missed even more punches then the first fight and again landed no body shots. GGG is killer yet in both fights was turned into strictly a jabber and this time can't use the excuse well I looked bad because Canelo ran lol He asked for Mexican Style and jabbing 600 times and only landing 6 body shots while going backwards IS NOT MEXICAN STYLE.Last edited by bigdunny1; 10-09-2018, 11:41 AM.
