  • Golden Boy only released part of the quote from Dr Eichner, manipulating the public

That is some breaking news but will probably also be swept under the rug.

When Canelo failed two drugtests, not VADA reported on the issue but Golden Boy came out first to manipulate the media and public with their statement only releasing whats beneficial to them and Canelo, actually only reporting about one test thats in line with contamined meat and not telling us about the second sample that had 10 times the amount of Clenbuterol.

    Golden Boys statement:

"As part of the voluntary testing program that Canelo Alvarez insisted on ahead of his May 5 fight, ONE of his results came back positive for trace levels of Clenbuterol, consistent with meat contamination that has impacted dozens of athletes in Mexico over the last years."

As Daniel Eichner, Director of SMRTL, the WADA-accredited lab that conducted the tests stated in his letter today, "These values are all within the range of what is expected from meat contamination."

Ok first of all Canelo failed TWO Tests and Golden Boy chopped Dr. Eichners statement and didnt release the following: Link: https://www.boxingscene.com/nsac-on-...-vegas--126465

"Further investigation is needed to make a final determination" - which the paper states is because "Canelo's Feb. 17 positive sample contained such a higher level than the positive sample collected on Feb. 20."

So Canelos 2nd test on Feb 20th had 60-80 picograms and thats in line with meat contamination but his first sample 3 days earlier on Feb 17th. had 10 times the amount of Clenbuterol, that is 600-800 picograms, here you can see the exact details:

Cyclist Contador for example had 50 picograms in his sample, he also claimed tainted meat and he was banned from the sport.

Lucas Browne was just suspended for Clenbuterol and stripped of his Heavyweight title.

Canelo has this really high amount thats absolutely in line with PED usage of Clenbuterol and gets a free pass?

According to a research lab study a regular PED cycle with Clenbuterol you will show up with around 500-600 picograms. Canelo had 600-800, so he probably took a high dosis.

Clenbuterol used as a PED leaves your system after 4-6 days, which means it cant be detected anymore in blood or urine samples, only a hairtest could provide more facts. Thats also totally in line with Canelos two samples. How would he get 600-800 picograms from meat? It's literally not possible unless he ate a ton of contamined liver just before VADA knocked on his door.

Is it really that surprising that Canelo and Goldenboy are shady? He will still get away with it though.

Is anyone really surprised? WBC came out as soon as this was out that Canelo was innocent before any further investigation was done.

Not a good look for Clenelo. Where you initially saw a tiny possibility of the clenbuterol coming from meat contamination, these last values indicates that Clenelo ate a herd.

"During the Under 17 world soccer championship in Mexico in 2011, researchers from the Dutch Wageningen Research Institute (RIKILT) were commissioned by soccer’s governing body, FIFA, to analyse meat samples from the kitchens of the hotels where the players were staying. In 14 of 47 samples, clenbuterol was detected, at amounts between 0.06 and 11 micrograms per kg. “That's not strange in Mexico,” says Saskia Sterk of RIKILT. At the same time, researchers from the Doping Lab of the German Sports University at Cologne analysed 109 of the 208 urine samples collected from the participating soccer players and found clenbuterol, ranging from 1 to 1556 picograms per milliliter.

800 picograms seems still "in line" with meat contamination.. for what it's worth.
I can't read the article?? can you post the text in full please?

I just woke up so maybe i'm stupid. But they are just testing normal soccer players? Guys that could easily be juicing?

I feel like to get a somewhat accurate results it would have to be a controlled group. No buying that. And if OP is telling the truth, Clenelo needs to piss off now with the key thrown away. The guy is pure scum and a fraud on every level.

Main point is that even though Canelo had 15 times more Clenbuterol in his urine than Contador - whom many mention - it's still within range that was previously found in cases that turned out to be meat contamination.. So it's not like he had to eat 10 cows a day.
                    Thanks.

It appears as if there is a study describing how to differentiate between meat contamination and therapeutical use:

The differentiation of clenbuterol abuse and unintentional ingestion from contaminated meat is crucial with respect to the valuation of an adverse analytical finding in human sports doping control. The proportion of the two enantiomers of clenbuterol may serve as potential discriminating parameter. For the determination of the individual enantiomers, specific methods were developed and validated for the different matrices under investigation based on chiral chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry. Data are presented from the administration to humans of clenbuterol from a pharmaceutical preparation, and from cattle meat and liver containing residues. A shift in the proportion of the enantiomers in cattle meat is detected and this signature is also found in human urine after ingestion. Thus, an altered enantiomeric composition of clenbuterol may be used to substantiate athletes' claims following adverse analytical findings in doping control. However, in meat, the enantiomeric composition was found to be highly variable. Species as well as tissue dependent variances need to be considered in interpreting enantiomer discrimination. Analysis of post administration urines from a controlled experiment comparing the administration of racemic clenbuterol from a registered pharmaceutical preparation and the administration of residue-containing meat and liver (nonracemic mixture) from treated animals is reported. Furthermore doping control samples from Mexican U17 World Championship 2011 of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), with adverse analytical findings for clenbuterol, were re-analysed.
Can't wait for the NSAC report.
