  • Comments Thread For: Jessie Vargas vs. Thomas Dulorme To Have WBC Silver at Stake

Jessie Vargas and Thomas Dulorme will clash for the WBC Silver Welterweight title at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago on October 6, live on DAZN. Former two-weight World ruler Vargas (28-2 10KOs) is gunning for the chance to become a two-time champion at 147lbs and victory over Dulorme (24-3 16KOs) would move him into pole position to face newly crowned WBC champion Shawn Porter as the mandatory challenger, after Porter defeated Danny Garcia in Brooklyn earlier in the month.

So Shawn Porter gonna gave 3 mandatory challengers (plus Thurman?)

    Ugas
    Vargas-Dulorme winner

... Berto is already mandatory challenger, with Ugas being the second direct mandatory challenger, and you still have Thurman with his rights as emeritus champion.

You add that the WBC seems fully on board with unification fights, and you're basically looking at 16-18 months before Vargas can get his mandatory shot, lol.

To be fair they've been had silver belts.

But WBC doesn't have secondary titles like the other orgs who have NABF, WABO on other various letter belts lol.

We have the Breazeale/Whyte situation at HW! We had Stevenson/Alvarez debacle at LHW! We have the Canelo/Charlo situation at MW! Now, we have the Ugas/Berto/Vargas/Thurman BS at WW! WTF???

Longer than that. It would take porter 18 months just to do those 3 fights lol

It’s been out of hand bruh. But that’s because the Porters looking for a tide over ($$$) fight before Shawn takes on Errol. To add to it casuals (see above) believe this is a proper matchup. In reality though, what has Dulorme or Vargas done recently that makes anyone believe that they truly deserve a title shot?

F#ck the silver belt. This is for the Ex-TMT Championship in my book.
