          It's also due to the fact he didn't fight at the world level until he was 28 years old.

          Didn't win a title until he was 29.

          Was still considered to be green at this time.

          Most fighters have been fighting at the top level for years by that age.

          Plays a big part.

          Consider that Hopkins is almost 50 but has been fighting at world level for 20 years.

          Pacquaio is 35 but he's been fighting at the world level for 16 years.

          So there isn't that much difference despite the 15 year age gap.

            He did have amateur fights and of course fighting in prison for 5 years, how many I don't know exactly but I've read about 85 fights prior to turning pro.

            But yes, but the point is well taken - if a guy has 400 amateur fights his pro career isn't going to be long.

            I think most importantly is Hopkins almost insane dedication to year round healthy lifestyle. And the fact he's never really taken punishment in any of his fights.
