It won't make a dent on the US debt, but they're doing it raise some money.
It be ****d up if the Saudis turn around and use them against the US.

Why would the Saudis use the weapons against the US?

they're dependent on the u.s. for logistics and spare parts.
actually better for us if they have our weapons.
if they ever go against us , they will struggle to keep their weapons serviceable without u.s. help.
that's what happened to the iranians.
iranians pre-SHAH were mostly armed with american weapons.
without u.s. support most of those weapons ended up being worthless.
