If Floyd hates Bob, wouldn't beating Pac long ago stopped him earning more money?

    De La Hoya vs. Mayweather:
Oscar rehydrated up to ~170 lbs in the ring.
Floyd was 151 in the ring.

    De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao:
Oscar had not fought at 147 lbs for the last 7 years. He was drained and 147 lbs in the ring.
Pacquiao was a hydrated 148 lbs in the ring.

Pacquiao was 1 pound BIGGER in the ring. Eating three meals everyday, fully hydrated.

Oscar was a starved, dehydrated 147 lbs, dead man walking in the ring.

Canelo last fought at 147 in 2010, only THREE years before his fight with Floyd. But people act like it's a travesty Floyd got at 152 lb catchweight, when he is has all the business leverage, and Canelo had never headlined even ONE PPV.

Pacquiao's entire career since his Oscar fight has been a total fraud.

This is what Andre Ward(#2 P4P) has to say:

    otrboxingradio(dot)com/?p=1714

"I think Manny has a great legacy, but we got to be honest about some of his fights though. The De La Hoya fight, that’s a fight I don’t know how it would of played out if De La Hoya had been able to come in full strength, but it’s no secret that De La Hoya really had to suck himself down. Cotto had to lose weight. I’m not taking nothing from Pacquiao but with all due respect to Manny you gotta to look at Floyd’s resume, and people love to hate Floyd but people have to understand what he has been doing since the 90′s, people just totally wiped out the 90′s and forgot about it when it comes to Floyd Mayweather.

After Floyd fought Genaro Hernandez, after his first year as a professional, first year and half, the dude didn’t not look back, he’s fought one good fighter after another and he’s beat them. Just compare the De La Hoya fight for Pacquiao, with the one with Floyd. Floyd did not have any say in the ring size, he fought at a weight class above his, I think De La Hoya got to pick the gloves, everything was against Floyd with De La Hoya compared to when Manny fought him."
One thing is, Oscar made the 147 offer while Pac was at 135. I believe it was 130 for JMM and then 135 Diaz and then 147 which is a big jump within 3 fights. Oscar was very drained but he offered 47 stupidly. Ward fought Dawson at 68 and Floyd Canelo at 152 so they all are involved in it.

Catch weights have happened for many years, even Floyd VS Augustus was at a catch weight.

Yes, Mayweather Pacquiao would generate the biggest pie, but right now, HBO and Bob Arum would have to be given their cut of the pie. If Floyd waits out Pacquiao's contract, he'll be able to get th same pie, and only share it with Golden Boy and Showtime.

How do so many idiots not inderstand this?
When a fight with Pauli Malignaggi is the biggest money fight in boxing, your point will be valid. Until then its just nonsense.

DLH was favored vs Pac, widely by most analysts. Not so with Floyd. DLH only had to go down 3lbs vs Pac going up 12. That he came drained is nobody's fault but his. Attempted cherrypick backfired

Possibly his mindset when he initially agreed to the contract terms the first go round. Everything after that has been posturing from both sides.

Fight will never happen unless Pacquiao gets over his fear of needles.

Its for this reason the fight didn't happen, it would have been financial malpractice for Arum to put his rising star and cash cow in with Floyd to be reduced to a smoldering pile of rubble. What other name does Arum have in his stable of fighters that rivals Manny in terms of fame? Maybe Arum thinks Pac could beat Floyd (not likely), but be that as it may he wouldn't take the risk then and he sure won't take it now. We all saw what losing does to the career of a PPV star. Pac's last outing did a terrible under 475,000. That didn't happen because the fight was happening in China, or because the Chinese didn't understand boxing, it happened because Pacquiao has lost 2 of his last 3 fights, and one of those losses was by brutal KO. So although dummies are fond of saying Floyd is scared of the furious Pacquiao he's been KOd 3 times and lost a total of 5, a wrecking ball that's not.

Any fighter can be built up to seem like a credible threat to Floyd and its not so much based on skills but more of an intangible desire to see Floyd get KTFO.

So now he'll have to do Olympic Style psychological testing? isn't it enough to agree to small or no window drug testing, like he did years back?

People who have not fought, or don't understand the current 24 hour prior weigh in system, don't understand the truth of all this mess. That's why people hate Floyd, because of ignorance.

                  1. Floyd is in shape at 149-151 lbs, no dehydration. Weigh in weight = in ring weight.

                  2. Pacquiao is in shape 145-148 lbs, no dehydration. He likes to play the trick of weighing in at 142-145 to seem smaller (which takes about 30 minutes of running on the treadmill), but he usually gets in the ring at 148.

                  3. Floyd and Pacquiao are almost exactly the same size. Floyd has at most 3 lbs naturally on Pacquiao.

                  4. When Floyd and Pacquiao were both 16, they both fought at 106 lbs. Floyd fought in amateurs, while Pacquiao fought pro because the Philippines did not have a good enough amateur system.

                  5. MOST 130-135 lbers are ~150 lbs on fight night. When Pacquiao fought at 135 (lightweight), he was about 145 lbs lean IN THE RING. Pacquiao did not "move up in weight" anymore than Floyd did to fight Oscar. He simply stopped playing the bull**** dehydrate-rehydrate in 24 hours game.

                  6. This is the reason Floyd says he's not a real welterweight. Actually, he and Pacquiao are real welterweights (~147 lbs in the ring). Their opponents are NOT. Canelo, Mosley, Victor Ortiz all get in the ring around 165 lbs for welterweight, which is a shameful practice.

Yeah, catchweights have been around for a long time. But Pacquiao has used the bull**** weigh in process to fool the idiot fans.

148 in shape Pacquiao drains Oscar to 147, no rehydration = gets credit for beating the "bigger" man (who was actually 1 lb smaller in the ring).

151 in shape Floyd fights a close fight with a ~170 lb in ring Oscar = Floyd sucks and has no punching power.

151 in shape Floyd makes Canelo weigh in at 152, then lets the 23 year old rehydrate to ~168 lbs in the ring = Floyd is a *****.

Pacquiao/Arum are ****ing liars and the fans are idiots.

And when you become the #1 in your industry (like Coca Cola), with the most business leverage, and you let the #2 (Pepsi) dictate terms to you, your point will be valid...

No actually, your point would still be stupid.

Pacquiao did not "go up 12 lbs" from 135 lbs, that is a lie manipulating the stupid weigh in system.

When Floyd fights at 147, he is about 150 in the ring.

When Pacquiao fought at 135, he was about 145 in the ring.

He actually went up 3 lbs. If athletic commissions simply used urine hydration tests at weigh ins to force fighters to weigh in hydrated, we would see this cluster**** of lies and hypocrisy.

The real problem is the idiot fans who can't see through these transparent lies and shill for the real fraud (Pacquiao).
