Good info, thanks. So much irony that one of his reasons for leaving Top Rank was that he says Miller wouldn't fight him as he didn't want to risk his shot at Joshua....sweet.

    • Forget Ortiz.
Any top ten would beat his ass.
Kownacki won't let him breath with his relentless attack.
      Ask Washington and Martin.
Let him take his usual $200K paycheck in the undercards.

Haymon will resume feeding him with bums.

Too many mfers are recklessly saying that about Haymon with this Ortiz sh^t when the promoter is clearly some guy who don't like Eddie & seems to have beef with him from the Matchroom/Ortiz deal awhile back.

There is no indication Haymon had a hand in that decision & I've not even seen anything to suggest Ortiz is a Haymon advised fighter.

Y'all mfers keep trying to make Haymon the f#cking Keyser Soze of boxing. Its ridiculous.

          But boogeyman doe.
That's not what he said though, lol.

Unless my reading comprehension isn't clear, Hearn just said that his first offer was for $6m, he didn't hear anything back, and then made a new offer for $7m with an undisclosed offer for a second fight on DAZN; a two-fight deal in most other parlance.

Still, if Jarrell Miller was set for $6.5m (don't know if that's before or after Salita Promotions gets their piece), why start the Ortiz talks at $6m, before mandating it be two fights (having a rematch clause I basic boilerplate for a voluntary defense, but picking up an option isn't) to get to $7m [again, this according to Hearn's own words]?

Jimenez seems to have gotten zealous in the talks, but let's be clear here

The Ali Act protects the fighter, not the promoter; if Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier got together, agreed on the terms to fight each other, and then hired an outside party to actually start the event for them, they'd be entirely in the clear to do as they wished.

That's basically Haymon's business model; Mikey wants to fight Errol Spence Jr, Spence Jr is down to fight Mikey, a split is agreed to, and then the event gets put together. Fox Sports backs the move to PPV, ITV has their UK fee, the live event gets staged by hired promoters, etc.

The fight happens, the result is the result, and then both guys sit down and share the proceeds from the event together.

If AJ makes $30M and Ortiz makes $7.5M the pot is $37.5M.
                    25% of $37.5M is $9.375M‬
                    75% is $28.125M
