  • Would Burns fare better than Rees did against Broner?

Judging by his performance today, it's highly debatable.

He'd still lose, but probably last longer

Of course. He's shown he can take a series of punches from a KO artist for a start. Little Rees couldn't take Broner's power.

Anyway, Burns's main issue was Chelo's reach. He has very long arms. Burns couldn't get close enough to make his work stick.

          Yes.

Broner would probably take longer to stop Burns.

If by fare better you mean make it passed the fifth round, sure he'd fare better. I'd still place my money on him getting stopped though.

I think Broner would have no problem getting an early KO win. Burns was hurt often and Broner is much sharper than the guy that almost beat Burns.

Im just putting this out there but Broner has an absolute nightmare with Gonzalez. Not saying he loses but this guy is a tough style for anybody at lightweight... until he decides he doesnt want to fight anymore obviously.

But yes Burns i think does better than Rees against Broner, still loses though. Maybe late stoppage, or wide points i reckon. Not that Broner is ever coming back down to lightweight...

i think burns made gonzalez look excellent. Burns extra basic, not particularly strong or fast. Everything in front, porous defense. This guy should not fight broner, ever.

Broner just has to hit him enough times to make him think about quitting and he'll do it
