HBO went How Many Weeks without showing any boxing on its network? But yet it is actually HILARIOUS how some are just focused on what Showtime is doing but completely IGNORING what HBO is NOT DOING!

The Investment was made to finally be able to "COMPETE WITH HBO" so technically Showtime is getting their Money's Worth because not only are they almost matching HBO In Ratings despite having far less subscribers overall, but they're also completely outselling HBO in PPV Buys for Boxing Events

HBO can't even fill boxing Dates so they had to shot everything down for what 2 months? Or however long that was. I don't remember HBO ever going without boxing for that long.

The Pacquiao-Algieri fight seems underwhelming at first glance, but if you consider that the fight was in China, the fact that Algieri was virtually unknown to many and that investment in proportion to the Mayweather-Maidana fight(s) were significantly less, it isn't bad as some imply. Not to say it was a great success, but taking all these factors into account, it performed better than the Mayweather fights given the circumstances.

You guys just don't get it. All those reasons you came up with as to why Pac-Algieri did <300k ppv buys are irrelevant. They have no merit in negotiations. What matters are hard facts, the numbers. Floyd did ~4 million ppv buys in his last 3 fights while Pacquiao did <1.5m for his last 3.

His fights were in China you say? Don't fight in China. He was fighting less known fighters you say? Fight better fighters. Showtime losing money doe you say? Irrelevant.

He is now in the negative side lol

It's bad enough to break even in business, but to lose millions. That must hurt bad.

But don't you think the profit from the canelo fight eas enough to offset these loses?

Floyd truely always needed other fighters fan bases and
Big names (most were has beens and washed up)
          To get good ppv numbers.

He never once beat a prime hall of famer.

          A very overated fighter.

This is what, the 31st thread about the retired Floyd Mayweather on this message board in the last week. Just like all the others, neither the thread started nor the person who wrote the linked article know a damn thing about how PPV events work or anything about Floyd's contract with Showtime. Therefore, no one has a clue about how much money may be made off a Floyd fight.

Of all the things to use to diminish what Mayweather has accomplished you're going to go with the PPV route? what a joke.

              Embarrassing thread.
