Frazier leaves the likes of Fury, Wilder and Joshua as quivering heaps on the floor. None have the defence, footwork or inside fighting skills needed to deal with someone like Frazier

Wlad is tougher, depending on how much he is able to clinch, but can definitely see Frazier getting to him. If the ref enforces the rules, klitschko has little chance.

205lbs of accurace well timed power > 250lbs uncoordinated, innacurate telegraphed punches.

The 90's heavys are a much bigger test. Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe and Lewis were great great fighters. It really depends on which version of those guys we put Frazier in with.

      Nowhere.

Boxers now are far better than back then. In every sport, records are being broken where things can be measured. Boxing cannot be measured in such a way but it's very naive to think other sports have moved on significantly yet boxing hasn't.

Athletes now are just better. Teleport a fighter from the 70's in todays game and they won't last 2 rounds. Obviously if they had todays training and advantages then things might be different of course.

How many top level, record breaking athletes are currently competing in HW boxing?

Joshua is a decent athlete but started at 18 with 0 background in the sport (and it shows if you know what you are looking for).

Wilder was a middling Basketball player who started late.

Wlad is a great athlete tbf. Doubt he would be considered great if he competed in other sports. Too stiff.

I rate these guys in the era they are fighting in, but lets not pretend they are that special in the grand scheme.

Lennox Lewis pisses all over these guys and he competed nearly 20 years ago (the 100m record has been broken what, 5 times since then?)

But the average boxer today is still a better athlete than the top athletes 30 years ago. Far, far better actually.

Just think of Sprinting 30 years ago. a guy like Carl Lewis would barely make it into some sprint finals now, he'd be eliminated in the semi's in some competitions.

Sport and athletes have moved on so much, it's stupid to think boxing isn't the same. There's just no way to officially measure it like other sports.

There would be a few exceptions no, doubt, the same way a few old world records still stand in other sports but on average, most top boxers back then wouldn't be able to compete today if they were just transported straight from then to now.

I doubt he would even fight at heavyweight.

Joshua or Wlad would defeat Frazier easily ,it wouldn't even be a fair fight skills and attributes win fights not lables . Frazier would be a walking target and hes never beat /rarley fought power punchers . How is the easy to hit Fraziers defense compared to Joshua who rarley takes flush shots? Joshua took shots from guys over 240 where Frazier was almost tko'd in 2 against 210 pounders ....where is the chin advantage as well? I highly doubt he gets past Wilder or Povetkin ,Fury would simply beat him in a game of tag maybe knock him out if he lands enough , Frazier wouldn't have the footwork to set up on the 6'9 moving target .........Frazier in top 10 is questionable but not top 5 ,i dont see it .

Smokin Joe would be a force to recon with any era including the post the 90s.. Joe has a good chin & great engine.. Mid 90 onwards the HWs have mostly been above 6' 3 or so & had sound technique & were willing to break down the opponents slowly.. Joe has to eat jab all night to land his deadly left hooks & punching up isn't as powerful as punching at your height or down.. Joe would have been top 5 post 90s & top 2 from 80s to 90s..

In his days.. a Legend! But like many have pointed out in the modern era of boxing he would have fared well as a cruiser than heavy weight..

I disagree, i believe he could still compete at the top level.

His head movement was second to none, just look at the current heavyweight champions, none of them even move their head, all pretty much flat footed / leave their chin hanging in the air.

                  Frazier would catch them imo
