BT sports definitely did the heavy lifting on this promotion. Amir Khan was the wrong guy to try and sell to the us market as a viable name for ppv and the numbers will most likely reflect that. Everyone knew he didn't stand a chance.

Arum doesn't have Pacman anymore and all the welterweight champs can fight each other on the PBC side. It's gonna be a struggle getting Crawford big fights.

They're both 31. They're both 3 division champions (Loma does edge him in being #1 in 3 divisions vs Bud only being #1 in 2 divisions so far). But Loma is a 3 division lil guy champ. Bud is a 2 division lil guy champ & now he's a champ in one of the most popular divisions in boxing history & where the big money fights have been happening at the most in our era & where there are a ton of big fights to be made.

Loma doesn't even have opponents anyone cares about him fighting THAT much. Loma vs Tank is Loma's MayPac fight probably ffs.

Bud has one of the bigger fights in boxing looming vs Spence.

And the most important thing is foreign fighters got a much harder climb to be big draws in boxing. Bud as a American is a much easier sell.

And also its a lil lame but like it or not Bud's undefeated record sells to casuals better than Loma's 1 L record sells to casuals.

Everything is on the side of Bud being bigger, but TR does seem to push Loma more despite all the limitations with pushing a foreign lil guy with an L & who's not in a division or has any fights mainstream fans care about in his future.

Now in defence of top rank, they do have a p4p fighter in Crawford who is hard to market without spending some serious capital. He has no personality whatsoever. Thankfully he doesn’t play the “toxic negro” role like others have to make money off the fact that often black Americans can only make money playing that role like Broner and Mayweather did as villains. That’s an awful stereotype but it seems to sell. Nor is Crawford a comedian like McGregor, a menacing psychopath like Tyson, or a pretty golden boy like Leonard was....etc etc. What top rank is going to have to do to really promote him is make commercials....lots of creative commercials showing his highlights even when he is not fighting. Hire a filmmaker and start a legitimate marketing campaign with sponsors as well, get him in commercials. This stuff works. And it produces. So many promoters these days have lost the plot of how to really promote boxers

Madison Boxing insinuated Spence to be racist. I say Spence instigates racism, which to some boxing fans it isn’t far fetched that Spence is race baiting. Spence’s baby momma is Mexican, so I doubt Spence is 100% pro-non interracial of course.

What would be theory or insinuation that Arum or ESPN praise Loma more over Crawford? Is Spence lying? Crawford and Loma combined in P4P has the world looking at Top Rank as the defacto signer for the best fighters considering most P4P rankings. Plus Crawford has his guarantees. Spence has to realize that PBC has the certain divisions locked by design the same way Top Rank operates the WBO by design. Can’t blame the fighters but the promoters as Spence has said. Crawford has more accolades over Spence anyways.

Spence didn't bring race into the Crawford TR conversation. That tweet was a response to DLH months ago.

Spence Crawford only happens when the money dictates a split promotion and broadcast. Right now it doesn't. PBC and Spence are doing their part. Spence said that TR isn't doing theirs to build the fight. His reasoning is that Arum is trying to promote Loma and Crawford simultaneously. Madison seems to want dismiss that view by saying Spence is a racist who just wants Crawford promoted by a black guy. However Spence makes a legit point because Crawford is a guy who doesn't talk himself up or attend events that will garner him attention. Accordingly Arum should be pushing him solo and in more ways.

It doesn’t. Anyone dating otherwise is just spewing slanted propaganda. Nothing to see here....pretty much of a muchness. Spence has every right to voice his response of why he doesn’t want to be promoted by golden boy who basically isna west coast promotion that caters to the Mexican-American fight fan with Mexican and Mexican American fighters. Canelo and Garcia are the most promoted fighters in that outfit. How many blue chip black American fighters want to sign with golden boy? None. And throw in the fact that golden boy had its own racist email scandal regarding PBC/haymon and the plot thickens. By the way, fishnets didn’t respond when Spence said that, and he deleted the tweet. I guess he didn’t want that going any further.....

Exactly. I often wonder if these folks are misinformed, ignorant to factual context, or just purposely disingenuous in an attempt to push a narrative.
