And then they became partners a couple weeks later. Look it's a long shot. But it's something I noticed and it's definitely something that stuck out to me as set-up.
Be that as it may, your reasoning in your initial post is still flawed since Hopkins clearly said what he said as a statement not as question. He certainly was not asking his corner "Is this the round?"

And lol at "love tap". That was solid liver shot from a full fledged Middleweight who carried his power all the way to LHW. How do you know that punch shouldn't have had Oscar in withering pain?

Yeah, I couldn't remember if it was a question or statement, just that's what he said. Quite frankly, it doesn't change much on my end.

And you're right, I don't know whether that shot should have Oscar writhing in pain. But it sure as hell didn't look like it to me. Or to a lot of other people, including fighters. He was ridiculed for that.

Not sure if anybody has seen this youtube clip before, but it addresses the conspiracy theory that the Grape Lady hid a mic in Oscar's trunks and might have paid him to take the dive against Hopkins

Carried his power? He hasn't had a KO since the DLH fight 11 years ago.

The best is where George Foreman tells Jim Lampley to be cool and he better watch himself at the end of the fight lmao

floyd in the first Maidana fight hinting he wanted to quit in the corner after Round 3 and Sr told him something along the lines of "Don't you quit little Floyd. Box this muthat****a. Easy work. You really going to go out like that". I can't remember exactly what it was. One of my fav moments as a Maidana fan.
