Japan has the most draconian gun laws in the world. So heavy that organized crime donít even use guns. Yakuza bans their members from using them due to heavy penalties for leaders just for members usage.

We seen the effects of loose gun laws in us.

KAWASAKI, Japan (AP) ó A man carrying a knife in each hand and screaming ďI will kill you!Ē attacked a group of schoolgirls near a school bus parked at a bus stop just outside Tokyo on Tuesday, killing two people and injuring at least 17 before killing himself, officials said.

Most of the victims were students at a Catholic elementary school who were lined up at the bus stop near Noborito Park in the city of Kawasaki when the man began slashing them with knives. Officials said police captured the attacker but he died at a hospital from a self-inflicted cut in his neck.

Witnesses described a hellish scene: children and adults falling to the ground, some with their shirts soaked with blood, dozens of children running and screaming for help, and school bags and books scattered on the ground.
So this guy slices up 17 people and kills 2 with knives?

How can this be?

I thought guns were the problem?

I guess Japan will need to enact some serious knife control laws.

Ah. Smell that freedom?

It's pretty interesting. Japan's homicide rate was very low in 2016 at just 362 and given that it's about the size of California and beats them in population since they were 127 million in 2016 compared to California only being 39 million and yet, California having 1930 homicides in the same year.

Also, what's interesting is Japan's suicide rate for 2016- 21,897.

Suicides down, but Japan still second highest among major industrialized nations, report says

Japanís suicide rate is the sixth highest in the world and the second worst among eight major industrialized nations, according to the latest government white paper on suicide measures released Tuesday.

This yearís report, approved by the Cabinet, shows that the number of people who took their own life declined to 21,897 in 2016, the lowest level in 22 years. But the figures also show that suicide was the top cause of death among people in five age groups from 15 to 39, a trend that stands out amid a decline in other generations.

Canít stop crazy. Can limit it. Oh canít deduce that if he had an ar-15 that 50 plus people would have been killed. Thing is I know you can. You just donít care. You rather the 40 people die so long as you get to keep your gun.

Until, of course, one of these nuts blows parents or child away. Then you will be out there protesting agianst the guns.

He won't answer you because he can't. I forgot which New England state, it might have been Vermont or Maine that had gun laws almost on par with Texas, but yet their homicide rate was very low, among the lowest in the nation. We all know why, it's just too politically incorrect to say so.

To be honest, I'm curious about what response I'll get. Or you may be right.

I've asked that question before, but to more pig-headed attrition type liberal people who cant stop. I've never got a response from them.....

BG is a reasonable guy, albeit liberal. Since he's the first reasonable one I've asked (as they are hard to find

It's one that should make anyone whose intellectually honest do a little thinking, that's for sure.

It would be interesting to see if there are other countries where that applies as well.

Since it's only counting younger people, the leading causes of death (like cancer and heart disease) will not have not taken the lives of many younger people so the data will be skewed.

I would think the data would be similar among alot of countries, especially the First World countries.

That said, Japan does have a suicide problem. And it's an interesting question as to why.

Japanese are known to be overly self-conscious perfectionists. if they cut a tuna sandwich in half slightly off center, mother****ers be contemplating seppuku the whole day.
