No, I am not presuming that Oscar is telling the truth in this case. I don't know whether Oscar is telling the truth or lying. I am simply pointing out that not revealing the offer at this stage is a good business practice. If Oscar is lying, Charlo can clear it up by simply saying that he did not receive a good offer or that he did not receive any offer at all. Silence implies consent. Oscar's claim of a big offer is hurting Charlo's brand. His silence give credence to what Oscar says. One more point, keep in mind that nobody tells the truth all the time or lies all the time -- not even you or me.

Silence does not imply consent. Chasing down every lie told related to you is a fools errand. The truth always surfaces eventually. Seems like you want to pass judgment one way or the other so you need to know or be able to presume which side is being truthful.
