Check out Holyfield's comments at 9:57 of this video where he states that Wilder wants to fight Joshua but AJ does want the fight and that he needs to step up to the plate if he is going to go down in history as a true champion.

It sounds like what he is saying is champions should fight their mandatory challengers. The problem is Wilder is not AJ's mandatory challenger. He is another champion. As far as AJ stepping up to fight Wilder he did that. He offered Wilder a flat fee of 15 million bucks to fight him in England. Wilder could have said yes and signed the contract and the fight would happen. Wilder didn't like the terms he was offered and refused to sign the contract. It cannot be denied that Wilder could have fought AJ in England for 15 million bucks which may not satisfy Wilder but it is still a large amount of money. AJ would have had home country advantage with possibly English judges and an English referee. That's his edge for being the A side with most of the belts. To say AJ refused to fight Wilder is just BS. Wilder could have fought him in England for 15 million dollars and he said no. That is Wilder refusing the fight not AJ. Now Wilder says he wants a 50/50 split or no fight. We all know he is never going to get a 50/50 split anymore than Pac got 50/50 for Mayweather or GGG got 50/50 for Canelo. If AJ's offer to Wilder was a fair one or an offer so bad Wilder had ever right to refuse it seems to depend on which boxer you are a fan of.

Listen to Holyfield's comments about Anthony Joshua beginning at 9:57 of this video. He clearly states that Deontay wants the fight but Anthony doesn't want to fight him. He says Joishua has to step up to the plate in order to cement his legacy in boxing history like the legends of old.
