  • Comments Thread For: Jermall Charlo vs. Hugo Centeno in Play For WBC Interim-Belt

To push along their middleweight ranks, the World Boxing Council has confirmed that Jermall Charlo (26-0, 20 KOs) and Hugo Centeno (26-1, 14 KOs) will fight for the interim WBC championship. The fight will be taking place because the full WBC middleweight title is tied up - as champion Gennady Golovkin is currently negotiating a potential May rematch with Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Lame. How much is the WBC getting paid for this? Hugo Centeno is the #2 non-champion middleweight in the world? Really? Why aren't they mandating Charlo vs Jacobs, or Deryvanchenko, or anyone good? Disappointing fight.

Hugo Centeno is a middling level fighter.. Julian Williams dominated him pretty handily before he qui....got bailed out with a clash of heads. Charlo by TKO.

Check out the divisional rankings by belts. Deryvanchenko isn't going to risk his position for a future mandatory scrap and neither is Charlo. Murata is up there too

Danny won't get any solid scrap until at the earliest late 2018
