A rematch between newly crowned UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva will take place Dec. 28, UFC president Dana White told ESPN Saturday.
The fight will headline UFC 168, happening at MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.
Weidman (10-0) delivered a shocking upset on July 6, knocking out Silva (33-4) in the second round of their title fight in Las Vegas. The loss broke a UFC-record 16-fight win streak for Silva and was his first in the promotion.
"I back," Silva said. "Trust me. I back."
A previously announced female bantamweight title fight between Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate is also on the card.
