But I mean look at the current schedule of notable fights & the odds on those fights.

      (May)
ESPN BJS (-5000) vs Isufi (+2000)
DAZN Taylor (-570) vs Ivan Baranchyk (+435)
DAZN Inoue (-850) vs Rodriguez (+575)
Showtime Wilder (-940) vs Breazeale (+620)
Showtime GRJ (-4500) vs Martinez (+1800)
      (June)
DAZN Joshua (-3000) vs Ruiz (+1500)
DAZN GGG (-5500) vs Rolls (+2200)
DAZN Briedis (-300) vs Glowacki (+250)
DAZN Dorticos (-300) vs Tabiti (+240)
ESPN Fury (-3600) vs Schwarz (+1800)
      (July)
DAZN? Whyte (-550) vs Rivas (+400)
      Fox?/Showtime? Thurman (-135) vs Pacquiao (+115)

Wtf we supposed to be talking about when most of these fights aren't really close fights that people see as 50/50ish & in some cases don't even see as competitive? We ain't got a high profile pickem type fight til Thurman vs Pacquiao in 9ish weeks from now ffs. And idk that people are exactly falling over themselves in excitement for that since Thurman ain't look that good at points last time out & Manny could play his father in a movie about himself at this point in his life.
      this is a good post.

Well if fighters and fans accepted what each brings to the table and just got on with it, we wouldn't have this problem. But when delusion and nationalism comes into it, shlt goes crazy. People thinking a Wilder who doesn't even sell tickets nor generate much money is worth 50/50 against a guy who brings in a shlt ton of money and sells a lot of tickets, are nothing but delusional and crazy.

Get rid of most Americans on here, then you'll see sanity reign. But with them, just f3cked up levels of madness will continue.

Wilder doesn't want AJ, he's the B side. The thread is about DAZN and Wilder ducking so just say it. Ha

We hardly ever get discussions over skill level and tactics that we think can be used for a fighter to win. Are boxing fans now becoming business men?
            I never did, cuz.

The only thing that has ever prevented a fight is the fighter making a decision not to do it. Whatever reasons they cite for that decision are personal.

A-side/B-side is kid games for grownups. When a fight is on the public's mind everyone involved is gonna make plenty of money. A-side/B-side is promoters trying to screw someone out of a fair share, period.

In an ideal world all fights would be 50/50 on what they generate. Network & promotion 33% Fighters split 67% at 50/50. No network? = 50/50 split. Stops all the bs.

Also, networks should not be allowed to "sign" fighters. They should bid on fights to show them, each fight individually.

                Thank you!

I don't give a rat's arse about any of this promotional crap. Never have and never will. Let's just talk the fights! Best post I've seen on here in a while, Larry.

Right. It’s prize fighting afterall. It’s always been about the money, weight. Numbers are tangible, that’s why we love talking about them. Every single number u can apply to a boxing match sure matters to fighters and promoters and service providers. We apply numbers to height and reach, wins, losses, PPV buys. While two fighters are arguing over getting the numbers right for years before they fight, we’re naturally gonna chime in. We’re no experts but every promoter says the other guy is a moron and are way off on the split.

Larry is one of the most notorious fighter groupies of all time. I guess there is a way Larry himself could have got fed up with all the junk but Larry HAS to put a disclaimer at the start outing himself as the original OG fighter nut-hugger.
