no he was chasing the fight because the ref wrongly took a point off him

On your scorecard Hatton would pitch a shutout so your point is irrelavent

in round 8, 9 and 10, he was advised by billy graham to go for the ko as he wasn't going to outpoint him. (either to the officals or mayweathers skills, either way).

Cotto would destroy the Englishman, sadly. Hatton is awful when he steps up to welterweight.

When Hatton fought and destroyed the great Tszyu I felt that he could go on to become one of the greatest fighters of all time.

However, he did not look after himself enough and ate the wrong stuff.

I like the man because of all he does for African charities, and he is a good boxer as he has been a World Champion for years and years, but he will never be one of the best British fighters of all time.

By the way, I feel that the referee was absolutely fair towards Ricky when he fought Mayweather.

Hatton might be better than some give him credit for, but he ain't better than Cotto.

hatton is a very good fighter, but by no means a great fighter. a b+ fighter at best, which is still very good. he can not hang with the elite. imo, he still has a lot to prove at 140 with all the good competition there that he has not faced like bradley, witter, torres, holt, malignaggi, forbes, d-hopkins, victor ortiz, gavin rees, etc... any prime welterweight would beat him, including: cotto, margarito, mayweather, oscar, shane, clottey, judah, p williams, cintron, berto, and most likely quintana too... most of these welters would just destroy him, especially the way he has been getting tagged lately...

calzaghe on the other hand is an A-level fighter. though i think b-hop did enough to eek out a decision, it was close, and calzaghe did outhussle hopkins, though he was not as clean, powerful, or effective... he put it on lacy sooo nicely too. just watched it again this morning. he beat the life out of him. i think lacy had been a little overhyped going into the bout, but he still was much better going into the fight than he was after he left the ring that night. joe ruined him the way b-hop used to ruin fighters like undefeated joe lipsey. the kessler fight was also a masterpiece - a clinic in how to adapt in the ring when things get hairy. after a shaky 4th, calzaghe dominated the rest of the fight with his quirky style. i also like joe's style but am pulling for roy in their nov fight, a rarity who has an even more virtuosic style than joe (at least in his prime).

One thing Cotto could have done like Hatton is pivot inside instead of running across the ring after he landed a nice combination.
