One belt per weight class would be best if things were properly run. Then the champ would be the champ without question. Champions should be made to defend that belt at least once every 6 months. All title defenses should be against a top 5 contender and the number 1 contender should get a title shot at least once a year. Meanwhile get used to 4 belts per weight class because they aren't going away.

1...so everyone knows who the real champ is. That would also help bring new fans to the sport.

Back in the day I rated the WBC and WBA belts but know WBA lost all credability with their 3 champions so keep the WBC and IBF and scrap the rest

            Get rid of the others
Who is gonna get rid of them? Boxing has no overall governing body, it's fragmented, just a load of companies doing business together. So basically the WBA or whatever are not exactly going to happily close their business when they don't have to.

Only 1 this would prevent Ducking and Cherry Picking cause the Champ would have to fight the top Contender

In the jungle there's no fuking silver champ lion or interim champ lion or alphabet leader.

Use to be like that in the 70's and 80's when I starting watching boxing once the IBF was formed it went down hill

Obviously it would never happen but 1 or 2 titles would make things a lot more interesting since I’d like to think everyone in each division would want to go after the guy with the belt instead of constant ducking.

                    One, man. Just one.

Like everyone else is saying just 1

Would create a clear path every fighter has to take to be number one no more bs mandatory fights by the IBF vs some Latvian goat farmer
