Depression has nothing to do with happiness, it's a mental problem he has no control over.
Many people say they're depressed when really they're just sad, this leads people to believe depression is sadness, it's not the same thing. Depression is when you don't feel anything, just emptiness and worthlessness.
If you have genuine depression it doesn't matter how good your life is, you'll still be depressed. It's an illness not a state of mind.
