I like that version a lot better than the new ones. It just seems more real and not overdone.

Having actual humans play the apes rather than this computer BS is better too. It makes it seem more real since the apes appear to be living things rather than a bunch of bits of data.

The difference is more complex than that. In the original (better) versions the scenario seemed more realistic. This was because although the apes had learned to speak...they were still a bergouning species...riding horseback and using lasso and spear...with just a few basic rifles to rely on. In the newer version they were far more advanced in terms of tactical critical thinking and weapons technology. It seems impossible that they could achieve so much so quickly.
