His term has been the most militarily peaceful in my lifespan. By far. The terrorist movements Bush/Obama "couldn't defeat" (because they were directly funding & arming) mysteriously evaporated overnight.

Despite his criticisms of the welfare state he hasn't rolled it back in any significant way.

He isn't even well-liked by gun owners because he green lighted bumpstock bans.

Obama deported more illegals. Obama locked those kids in those cages. Trump is Caucasian so I understand why he got the backlash, but his detention & deportation practices have been softer than Obama's by the actual numbers.

Trump would be universally considered left-of-moderate prior to 2010 and the rise of "the squad".

For you, is it just a matter of being fashionable & the portrayal of "MAGA types" in the media? You don't want to be associated with them? They're not real though! It's 50% of the country! 50% of the country doesn't act or look any certain way.

I think people just haven't laid out the spreadsheets yet and realized the US has no right wing.

Republicans are now 2000s Democrats and Democrats are now hardline socialists. While the US desperately needs a right-wing, it doesn't have one.
        My issues with Trump are
        - not pro-choice
        - won't admit he was wrong about the central park 5 (or about Obama's birth certificate for that matter). Despite this, has a seemingly unforgiving stance on the death sentence.
        - too unstable to be trusted to consistently manage relationships with allies effectively
        - has created uncertainty about the future of the education department
        - a little too strong a stance against climate change science for my liking
        - has preached pro-gun at every opportunity, but seemingly has no issue with signing increased restrictions on guns
        - I have mixed opinions about his handling of trade deals
        - More pro-Isreal than I would prefer
        - I would prefer someone who is pro decriminalizing or legalizing marijuana
        - His administration has argued against protections on the basis of sexual orientation. On trans issues, I have mixed opinions.
        - deficits are now in excess of levels from the end of Obama's presidency. He hasn't curbed spending at all.
        - dedicated to putting in right wing judges at every possible juncture, making whether he is 'moderate' or not kind of irrelevant

To be fair, he has not really pushed for the death sentence, and ultimately the result of his handling of international affairs have been OK. Also he is preferable to other Republicans on LGB issues. I am OK with him on immigration, and he fortunately recently came around on vaccinations.

Also, the Dem candidates are worse for me on guns and are probably the same as him on Israel. And lord knows that Bernie and Warren would be worse on spending & taxes.

IDK where this all puts him politically, but I doubt I can vote for him. Cringeworthy to argue that the Republican party is not right wing though.

I took Washington Post's quiz on which candidates most closely resemble my views

Biden is far too senile for me to get behind so, guess I'm in the Bloomberg camp

I hadn't read that much about Warren's views, but I had a feeling there was a reason I never cared for her much lol

The trick to selling socialism, Marxism, communism, is to stick to platitudes. Whatever you do, don't get specific, because then you nail yourself down. Stay at the intersection of Broad Avenue and Vague Street.

Taxes go up but by much less than you pay for health premiums, college funds, chid care etc etc. Most western countries easily afford Bernie's proposals without paying any more in tax in the lower/middle class.

These aren't new or radical ideas to most of the western world and have been shown to be viable and successful many times, unlike supply side tax cuts which have never been shown to work.

Florida Libtards Sue Sanders to Remove Him From Ballot!!

JUST IN: Registered Democrats Sue to Kick Commie Bernie Sanders Off Ballot in Florida

The lawsuit seeks to keep Bernie Sanders, an Independent, from appearing on Florida’s primary ballot next month, citing the state’s closed primary system.

                    Politico reported:

Two Florida Democrats are suing to block Bernie Sanders from running as a Democrat in the state’s March 17 presidential primary.

In the lawsuit filed Monday in circuit court in Leon County, the plaintiffs ask that Sanders be disqualified from the Democratic primary because he’s a declared independent.

The Florida Democratic Party labeled the complaint “ridiculous,” and the Sanders campaign called it “spurious.”

The complaint also seeks to prevent state election officials from counting any votes Sanders has already received. More than 244,000 Democrats have already voted by mail in Florida.

Karen Gievers, a former circuit court judge representing Frank Bach and George Brown, both Tallahassee Democrats, said Sanders should not be allowed on the Democratic ballot.

“Florida is a closed primary state, yet here we have someone who is an independent on the Democratic ballot,” said Gievers. “You can’t be an independent and be a member of the party.”

The executive director of the Florida Democrat party fired back and called the lawsuit “ridiculous.”

“The Florida Democratic Party executive committee voted unanimously to place Senator Sanders on the Florida ballot,” Penalosa said according to Politico. “Votes cast for the senator are valid and must be counted.”

Many Democrats and Independents are panicking because Socialist Bernie Sanders is now officially the front-runner in the Dem 2020 race.

Eight Democrats and independents switched parties today in Mississippi to the Republican Party.

A Bloomberg internal poll claimed Bernie Sanders would drag down vulnerable down ballot House Dems.
