Heavyweights don't have to make weight so they weigh in well fed and full of fluids as well He only weighed 207 pounds for Ortiz when he could have weighed more if he wanted to. He could easily make the 200 pound cruiserweight limit by weighing in on an empty stomach and being a bit dry. He has a full 30 hours or more to eat and drink before going into the ring. It wouldn't drain him. Many cruiserweights weigh as much as Wilder on fight night. Cruiserweights gain the same 10 to 15 pounds that light heavyweights gain between the weigh in and the fight. Some gain more weight than that. If Wilder didn't think he could make 200 pounds and still be strong he wouldn't do it.

I don’t think making weight would be a big problem but he would have to consistently face more skilled opponents. That might be more of a problem.

Only on boxing scene can you have this discussion where ppl think its possible that he will perform right at CW. lol

You even have posters claiming thats his natural weight class of present is 200 and hes 6'7 ? He was reportedly sick before Ortiz and still only weighed 214 , can you imagine him weighing in at 200 ? lol

He relies on power and has bad balance to begin with but he'll do better at around the 200 pound mark ?

Its evident his fans cling on to every word which makes them just as dumb bc he rarely says anything sensible like this one , he didnt even weigh below 207 in is pro debut TEN years ago but hes going to excell at CW now and make weight which wont effect his actual performance ?

Not long ago he was talking about bulking to 240 bc he said it was closer to his walk around weight .
