Just realized Spence is fighting a 41 year 1:100 underdog, Rod Salka next?

it's not a great fight, but bundu isn't a bad fighter. spence is still learning. i know that he's easily a top 10 WW, but he's young, and he can benefit from being in there with a durable guy who knows a lot of tricks.

i really think they expected algieri to take him more rounds. i certainly did. now they probably feel liek they could use another fight of prep before they take on thurman or porter.

spence won't be fighting the bundus of the world in a year or so. they know what they've got. that kid might be pound for pound one day. they just want to make sure he's ready for his first "real fight" against porter, thurman, brook, etc.

what a weird conspiraloon you are lol.

'cant debate' ?what you mean like never actually debating just divulging in weird conspiracy alt theories and insults?

Thanks for the compliment though, box up always amuses me, however i support joseph parker over AJ etc. So im about as unpatriotic as they come.

Eff Pandas merely making the point that you blame the IBF not spence but everyone blamed GGG not the IBF.

Bundu is a perfectly good opponent for a stay busy eliminator. Levels and levels above someone like Salka.

He also has the style that i predict to give Spence the most trouble when he is at top level, namely an outfighter with lots of lateral movement.

If Spence can track him down and KO him it would be a statement imo. Especially as Thurman couldnt do the same

Meh, nothing wrong with this fight. Spence is still a prospect for the most part, and this is an IBF eliminator. If it gets him closer to a title shot I'm all for it.

I thought they want to build him up and match him up with a Top 10, at least Top 20 opponent.

Now Spence is facing that small Italian who turns 42 in a couple months, who doesn't even have a punchers chance (30% KO Ratio). Spence is like 3 inches taller, 4 inches longer reach as well.

What does that fight do for Spence? Does Haymon have no better fighters that Brook could face? Is anyone giving Bundu the slightest chance? Casinos list Spence as a 100:1 favorite.. damn, who is he fighting next, Salka?
Salka would be too risky for Spence, he needs to make 2 million dollars for each fight, i his next 6 fights, against top 200 level opposition, before he is ready to step up.

Let Uncle Al do his thing, he knows how to build fighters.

Thurman already said he wouldn't fight Spence. Danny Garcia dislikes risk. Vargas is probably facing Pac. So taking this fight is his best chance of getting to a title within the next year. Hearn acknowledged that Spence wanted to fight Brook now rather than waiting so not like he's taking the long road by choice.

I don't blame Golovkin for facing Wade. Sometimes you have to go the mandatory route. TBH though after Golovkin beats Brook, Brook probably won't fancy taking on Spence as his next fight straight after. So thanks to GGG it'll be a longer wait to see Spence face the best.

what's going on with pomonovorov or whatever his name is?

that would of been a really interesting fight between 2 unbeaten prospects, not a 40 something year old euro level grandpa.

I know people want to see Spence hurried but like all prospects he is still a work in progress.
Bundu is exactly the type of guy he should be fighting at this stage.

Bundu only has one loss vs Thurman who had roughly around the same # fights as Spence I think its a good measuring stick.
Bundu is a bit better than he gets credit for but maybe it comes down too how highly regarded Spence is. Any other prospect with under 20 fights, its probably deemed a legitimate test.

I'm not saying he isn't a good fighter but I really think Algieri severely flattered Spence. This guy had no amateur background & has never won a single round vs a southpaw.
