2A if to protect you from enemies (foreign and domestic)
I carry, I first got my LTC (CHL) [License to Carry or Concealed Handgun License] because I would meet people to sell items I posted on Craigslist
I was talking to a good friend of mine and he asked me if I knew when I would be attacked (if ever), I said no, since that day I have been carrying just about everywhere I legally can. I am all for concealed carry, even tho Texas is now an Open Carry State, I have yet to do so nor do I plan on it.
now here is what the public has to understand, I read the posted signs to prevent me from carrying into a business, I respect them and do not go in there, I'll take my money elsewhere. I don't drink when I carry (nor do I drink anytime) and I do not want to do anything that can get my LTC revoked.
Over 50% of the class talks about force vs deadly force, you cannot not legally shooting anyone because they used "force" against you. And flashing your gun around to get your way or brandishing your weapon can get your license taken away.
If you ever end up shooting someone and it is 100% justified, you still have to appear in front of a grand jury and pay court fees averaging $5,000+
I do weights, box and a little MMA, 5'8" and 240lbs, I can hold my own and have yet to be whooped by any one man, but it is good to know that I have a great equalizer on me that can help protect me and my family when we are out and about.
I much rather have a gun and not need it than to need it and not have it.
If a bad guy has a gun, then I want to have one too.

Home protection is just fine but personally speaking Ive been in the Military and Law Enforcement and I don't like guns at all. To much power for me and PTSD issues. Im no bad ass by any means but I would much rather throw blows and get my ass kicked than shoot someone. Hell if anything i carry a taser, pocket knife, or pepper spray (Top Cop), thatll put any man down.
What are your thoughts? Do you feel there is a need to carry around a gun??
b4 u can even throw a punch ur already dead
these thugs does not want to see u get beat up, they want to see u lyin in the ground breathless
so to say ud rather get beat up is the same as saying ud rather die than shooting a thug... good luck sorry im not as dumb as that

I know people will always carry guns legally or illegally, thats just the nature of the beast. So realistically in that sense I would/do support open carry. My thing is though, if you have a gun with you and I know someone would be dumb to just walk up and punch you especially if it was open carried, would you just shoot them?
I wouldn't shoot them, I'd fight them and no I would not open carry

I only ask because I live in Texas where open-carry recently became law. Before it went into effect, liberals were all over the media predicting people would be walking around with guns on their hips like in the Old West and we'd see gunfights in the streets regularly.
Despite those Chicken Little predictions, I've yet to see one person carrying openly, and I work in downtown Austin where I see countless people on a daily basis walking around downtown. Of course I've yet to see shootout either.

I have guns, but I don't really give a fck About them, and I cant stand most gun people.
Before the safe act passed in ny, I was looking to buy a SKS so I went to a local gun show.
Holy **** was that a mistake, nothing but fat losers, who feel tough with a gun in their hand, constantly talking about the country falling apart, and how the gov't is is evil, etc etc.
They all think they are some kind of soldier of fortune mercenaries, but they can barely even make it up a flight of stairs.
It's like a real life south park episode. so yeah, fck gun people, bunch of fcking losers.

More than likely. But I always like to be prepared in ways other than a gun.
I have a cannister of pepper spray in my garage next to the washer. I always carry a flip out knife with me too while doing laundry late at night. Who wants to fight a burglar in a fair fight anyway?
