  • Is Manuel Charr Vitali's worst opponent since he came out of retirement?

Dereck Chisora would beat Charr and so would every other opponent Vitali beat since he came out of retirement in '08. He's got virtually no head movement, he's not too quick on his feet. He's a pressure fighter, like Chisora, but without the upper body movement of Chisora and possibly not even the same power or speed. He throws some decent body shots but only when his opponent is lined up perfectly for him. Slow, ponderous eats a lot of shots. Fights with a high guard most of the time, just plodding forward.

This seems like a big step back for Vitali in terms of the level of opposition. Maybe because he had a tough fight against Chisora he's taking a tune-up? This guys skill level is extremely low compared to Chisora.

Vitali should easily outbox him all night with just the jab, and if he wants to he should be able to stop him mid rounds.

Is this the worst opponent Vitali faced since 2008? Even Sosnowski was better.

Watch the Charr-Page fight on youtube. Charr had problems with Page (31 losses at the time). The Klitschko's voluntary opponents are usually worse than their mandatories so it isn't a big surprise that Vitali chose someone without a chance at all.

gomez, briggs, sosnowski, peter, chisora, arreola, adamak, kingpin & charr. gomez at least beat sam & mccall twice to get shot, briggs is a name & former world champion, peter was the champion, kingpin beat terry smith & devon vargas to earn shot, sosnowski was a terrible choice but had 40some fights. arreola & adamek were good wins even though arreola had not really any experience with top tier heavyweights. adamek was just too small but had a win over arreola. chisora got his fight following a loss to helenius but should have won the fight. charr has beaten who? zack page & danny williams...do the math

Vitali could drink 5 40oz bottles of old english and snort some Heroin between rounds and still embarrass this guy

Difficult to say as two of his previous challengers lost on Prizefighter and another looked awful in losing against a journeyman Darnell Wilson. He is up there though.

Charr is far worse than Harrison. Harrison won a gold medal and was European Champion. Charr was lucky to beat a guy with more losses than wins on his record.

Then again Sosnowski was reeling against an opponent with zero KO's to his credit, who won a shutout decision against him. Certainly they are dubious achievements to have going into a world title fight.
