Professional boxing isn't judged by punches landed, it's judged by rounds won. For example, in round 1 you can land 250 punches, then in round 2 you can land 1 punch. Total punches landed through 2 rounds was 251, but the scorecards most likely read 19-19.

I can see either man winning II. Not this fight.
Marquez didn't win more rounds (Manny 7 JMM 5)
Manny had better ring generalship, pressed the action and clearly won the second half of the fight. I had MP sweeping rounds 9-12 (championship rounds).
I agree it was the closest of the three fights, and I personally think JMM power surprised Manny and prevented him from putting together more punches.
Angel Hernendez is a beast and I wish more boxers would seek world class S & C coaches.
